Investing in employers that invest in people.
Healthcare employers across Los Angeles face persistent staffing shortages. SBWIB supports hospitals, clinics, and care providers by coordinating training, preparing candidates, and reducing the cost of onboarding new staff.
Health-Flex HRTP
Wage Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 per employee
HRTP provides a flat reimbursement of up to $3,000 to support employers who train newly hired workers in high-demand healthcare positions.
Employer Match Requirement:
HRTP requires employers to contribute toward training costs. This match may include wages paid during training, supervision time, or internal training resources.
ACE (Advancing Careers Equitably) — WIOA OJT Guidelines
Wage Reimbursement: Follows WIOA policy
Employers participating under ACE may receive reimbursement consistent with WIOA OJT guidelines, which generally include:
Up to 50% of wages reimbursed during the training period
Training plans tailored to the occupation
Reimbursement amounts vary by role, wage level, and training duration
Employer Match Requirement:
Under WIOA, employers provide the remaining share of wages not reimbursed (typically the other 50%) and commit to training the employee according to the approved plan.
